Beginning in 1999, Robert Buelteman’s his took an experimental turn, exposing film directly to light emitted by plants electrified by high-voltage currents. A dramatic expansion of Semyon Kirlian’s work with “photograms” in the 1930’s, Buelteman’s images reveal the unseen world of energy, color and light hidden within the stems and leaves of living plants.
