The nude has always been a dominant subject matter for artists. In photography, the nude has been the escape from the commercial doldrums many photographers experience. There are no rules, no art directors telling you what to focus on and experimentation is at its peak when more freedom is at hand. This is why the nude is always an interesting subject matter for even viewers to focus on. We see photographers at their most creative mood trying new ideas and new techniques they wouldn’t normally have liberty to experiment with in a typical commercial job. Not only is it liberating for the photographer, but its also quite liberating for a model. Most photo shoots become collaborations between the model and the photographer adding even more intrigue and depth to an image. Models become less of a mannequin and much more of an actress playing a part for an image. Photographers rely more on the model to silently speak through the lens to convey to the viewer a vision.
